What is ARC?

Led by the University of Alabama in Huntsville's Invention to Innovation Center (I2C), ARC will focus on three pillars: Education and Training, Employment, and Economic Development in the North Alabama region. By driving multifaceted partnerships between academia, industry, and government, ARC aims to advance the science of artificial intelligence (AI) and enable its practical applications in research, innovation, and problem-solving. Serving as a neutral and trusted platform, ARC's goal is to position North Alabama as a hub for distributed and collaborative AI research.

ARC's mission is to drive innovation, research, and development while nurturing an inclusive and dynamic AI ecosystem in North Alabama. ARC aims to be the catalyst for educational and economic growth, employment opportunities, and collaborative research endeavors in the AI domain.

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and GEOHuntsville are co-sponsoring the second Geospatial Advantage Conference, a one-day, in-person event at the Jackson Center on April 3, 2024, 8:30 am – 2:40 pm CT, with a networking social and student career fair immediately to follow. With the theme “GeoResilence” this conference is an opportunity for government agencies, non-profit organizations, academia and industry to engage in discussions on partnerships, innovative technologies, and the growing geospatial ecosystem in Huntsville.


NGA delivers world-class geospatial intelligence products and services that policymakers, military service members, and first responders need, when they need it most. As a member of the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense, NGA supports a unique mission set. We are committed to acquiring, developing and maintaining the proper technology, people and processes that enable overall mission success.


GEOHuntsville is a 501c(6) non-profit corporation whose mission is to enhance the community’s ability to identify, innovate and expand its geospatial expertise and resources, advance economic and workforce development and facilitate geospatial solutions to address natural and human-caused threats to our community and nation.


Career Fair for Students:  Following the conference, we will host a career fair for students to meet and network with representatives from government agencies, academia and industry. Recruiters will be onsite from NGA, other government agencies and industry to talk with students about career opportunities. 

Cost:

$50 per attendee, includes lunch and networking social

$10 for student attendee 

$0 students to attend the career fair ($10 for students to attend conference sessions)

$0 for speakers and support staff

No parking fee.
